Many thanks for your input guys. I did eventually solve this problem - it was a case of pilot error, I'm embarrassed to say!! I hadn't cut the slices quite accurately and there was a pixel-width between them. Next time I'll be sure to use the zoom-in to check. Many thanks anyway from 'Red-Faced , UK :o '!!
