Hi Kelli. The transparent menu box is just a black area set at less than 100% opacity, so it darkens the area underneath, without totally obscuring it. To make the metallic rim that goes around the edge, any version of Photoshop will do. Just apply these effects: Drop Shadow, Inner Bevel, Contour (you can ignore this one), Texturizer (you can use the Texturizer on the Filter Menu), Gradient Overlay - about ten tabs, alternating between black and white. Mode Normal. Instead of this step, you can just use the Gradient Tool on your layer. (Still make it BWBWBWBWBW though :)
