Hi NewUser. I do tend to come up with the idea in my head. I then make the whole web page, minus the text, in Photoshop. After that, I slice the image up with the Slice Tool. Then, I make a separate image for each "sliver" (repeating) element, and save them separately. I don't put the text in in Photoshop, as I know what text looks like, and there's not much that can be done to make it look better or worse. Yes, you're correct. Having big bricks of text saved as images is bad for all kinds of reasons. It takes longer to download, and it's nonstandard (people are used to reading size 1-3 Arial, Verdana, and Times New Roman fonts, not antialiased 11-point Book Antiqua or something) :)
