Adding fonts to 6.0

I have version 6.0 of photoshop for Macs (I'm working on getting 7.0/cs), and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to add new fonts to the program, since the selection is rather limited. I've been trying to find the directory for a while, but so far I've been unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
