Image repeating as background

First of all great site, without it I would have been dead in the water. I am working closely with Kenny who has recently posted a message about screen size. Here's the problem, if we change the size of the photoshop image to 800x600 it fits a smaller screen great. Because I am saving the photoshop image as a background image, when I view the page on my 1024 screen, the image is not white but is repeating on the right side of the screen. Is there a way to prevent this image from doing that? Once again, thank you for all your help in advance.
