Hi Shaz. At the left of the screen (probably :) there is a big column with all the tools on it. That's the Toolbox. At the top left of the Toolbox is the Selection (Marquee) Tool. Click on it, but hold the mouse button down for a second or two. (If this doesn't work for some reason, press Shift+M). A watermark is a lightened area. I've done two tutorials on making watermarks. It might be wise to have a look at them. Basically, you get your image, and put some kind of shape over it. You then reduce the Opacity of that shape. :)
